Denture Repairs at Sunshine Coast
Why it isn’t a good idea to DIY
People are often tempted to repair their broken dentures themselves. After all, it sounds easy to fix a cracked or broken denture with some superglue without having to spend any money for it.
Even though these DIY fixes may temporarily do the trick, however, they don’t necessarily always address the real issue and can even in some cases make your dentures worse and may cost you more than what you initially should have been charged for.
Do not attempt to use superglue. It could not only cause gum inflammation but you may as well damage them further, especially in case we could refit and repair them.
The important step to take is to immediately seek an emergency denture repair service from a dental prosthetist or other dental professional.
If you are on the Sunshine Coast, contact us at Custom Denture Clinic right away.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are all broken dentures repairable?
How do I maintain my dentures to prevent breakages?
A regular check-up with one of our prosthetists is the most effective way to keep your denture in a healthy condition, and therefore minimise the risk of breakages.
Some other recommendations include:
- Rinse your dentures thoroughly with cool water to remove loose food particles after every meal.
- Dentures can break, so always fill the sink with water, then clean your dentures over the sink, just in case they slip out of your hands by accident. You can also place a towel inside the sink.
- Wash your dentures every day. Use a soft-bristled brush, and avoid using toothpaste. You may use an ultrasonic cleaner but that is not a substitute for brushing them
- Soak your dentures overnight. For many dentures, keeping them moist will help to extend their life.
